About The Crazy Quilter from Road Home Quilting

My first full-length fiction effort; I hope you enjoy it <3

This started as a short story. It was supposed to be a fun flash told through a few letters. Then I thought it would be good to add backstory to the letters, setting how they were found, probably in an attic, something like that. The next thing I knew, there were 13,000 words.

But there still wasn't an ending. And while I had hoped to write a mystery, I discovered that I had unexpectedly veered into the Gothic trope territory. So, I paused for some research to ...

Book Club: And So I Roam from Jo's Country Junction

You might remember back in August that I had a blog reader, Jill, write and say: “I always love your book reviews, and now it’s time for me to promote one I think you would enjoy, written by my daughter, no less! It’s about a young woman and her father leaving Philadelphia in the late […]

Book Club Review: The Education of Dixie Dupree from Jo's Country Junction

A blog reader mentioned a book to me by the author Donna Everhart.  I had already read the book.  I ended up picking another of her books,  The Education of Dixie Dupree, and invited all of you to read it along with me.

I liked the book.  I am a person who appreciates coming-of-age stories.  As I read I am often silently screaming to the characters, don’t do that…I know it’s going to be a bad choice.  I might also yell, “tell an adult”.  I think we can all find a little of ourselves in a coming-of-age ...

Book Club: The Education of Dixie Dupree from Jo's Country Junction

A blog reader mentioned a book to me by the author Donna Everhart.  I had already read the book.  I decided to give another of her books a try.  I picked The Education of Dixie Dupree and was wondering if any of you would like to read it along with me.

I am going to warn that this book does deal with a rape and anyone sensitive to that, may want to avoid the book.

My plan is that you could get a copy and read…we can meet up together on August 1st and you can all share what ...

Book Club Day: The Dog Lived (and so will I) from Jo's Country Junction

Today is book club day.  It’s our day to discuss our latest book The Dog Lived (and so will I) by Teresa Rhyne.

I have to say I was so happy when I knew from the very-very beginning that the dog was going to live.  I know many of you are like me and just knowing the dog is going to die leaves you knowing you’re going to need a box of tissues.  I’ve loved some great books that the dog dies in but I wasn’t up for that kind of story.

I was immediately attracted ...

Book Club: The Dry Grass of August from Jo's Country Junction

Hooray, hooray, it’s book club day!!

I had told you all about a book I read called Tomorrow’s Bread.  I had said I liked it and from there, readers wrote to recommend another book by the same author, Anna Jean Mayhew.  The book they recommended was The Dry Grass of August.

The Dry Grass of August by [Anna Jean Mayhew]
A few other readers chimed in and recommended the book too.  That’s when I thought it might be fun to have a book club…at least for one book.  In advance, I would tell you all the book title and you would have a month to ...

It's all about the magazines from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I've been truly blessed with the response to my designs in the magazine world. I'm not even sure how many designs have been published and I haven't always had a chance to blog about the where, when and so on.

But this time - here I am! On the COVER. This is the current issue of McCall's Quilting. That's the January/February 2020 issue. It's made with Banyan Batiks - the Baralla collection (pink slate colorway).

My quilt on the cover!

I'm super excited to make the cover. And this quilt is so simple - you ...
